This workshop covers a wide spectrum of Viking life and times – home-life to navigation, gods to battles and having Viking fun. From invaders to settlers, Portals to the Past’s popular Viking workshop gives a rounded overview of the period.

Thorulf Hammrsson has been raiding schools with success for 14 years. With his vast array of reproduction home life artefacts from cooking pots and utensils to an ironing board and combs, the girls soon learn what was expected of them 1200 years ago.

A weapons and armour display starts the afternoon, followed by Viking Spear wrestling and the finale being a Viking battle.
